On Day#2 of the 4th plenary meeting, the 5G-PHOS consortium had a great opportunity to tour TIM’s optical and wireless lab facilities and also see the testing tower where the 5G-PHOS massive antennas will be placed. Some pictures follow.

As the project prepares to enter its final year, 5G-PHOS had its 5th plenary meeting in Athens on the 15th and 16th of May 2019, hosted by partners COSMOTE and INCELLIGENT. During the two day meeting the consortium had a great opportunity to come together and witness all recent progress of the project, discuss the results received from the mid-term review, as well as decide on the necessary steps of the project for the immediate future. Overall the good progress of the project has been confirmed and critical decisions were made mainly concerning the project’s final demonstrators.

Watch the 5G-PHOS project carrying out its first successful demonstration at the Fraunhofer facilities of the converged Fiber-Wireless fronthaul transmission for 5G networks over mmWave spectrum employing a 32-element beamsteered antenna made by SIKLU and a linear EML made by III-V Lab.
